Iran Reports Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the US has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
