Previous British Broadcasting Corporation Consultants Face Members of Parliament's Grilling Following Allegations of Partiality in Unauthorized Document
We begin with queries from Conservative MP the panel's head, who chairs the group.
She opens by giving context to the leaked memo written by Michael Prescott and printed in a daily publication.
"I do not desire the BBC leaning toward one side or the other, I simply desire it neutral, impartial and just," he states.
Upon being questioned whether he considers the BBC is institutionally biased, Prescott answers: "No, I do not. Let's be clear, numerous aspects the BBC does is exceptional - including documentary and fictional shows."
But he adds: "There is significant effort that requires attention at the BBC."
Another ex-adviser British Broadcasting Corporation consultant interviewed by the panel, Caroline Daniel, remarks she views the BBC very seriously and that it has a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" across dynamic and complex issues.
"Was the BBC ready to have a thorough conversation and debate and act accordingly?" she reflects. "From my perspective, affirmative, they were."
