Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions
Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, however will the English top division leaders recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.
In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
The singer's latest record, the new release, is out on Friday.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.
The Hammers' sole away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.
A family member advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.
Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.
But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
